Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

MFA adds a second factor (TOTP app or hardware key) to protect accounts from password theft.

Enable MFA

There are 3 types of mfa available in the daployi system.

  1. Authenticator App (TOTP). use any cpompatible app. Google Authenticator, 1password ect.
  2. Paskey (1password, browser suported passkeys,Hardware Security Key).
  3. Email (OTP)

You can enable one or more of these methods. via the Settings page. it is revccomended to enable more than one if possible.

Authenticator App

  1. User Menu > Settings > Multi-factor authentication > Authenticator App.
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (e.g., Authy, 1Password, Google Authenticator)
  3. Enter the code to confirm and store recovery codes safely.

Why use MFA

  • Prevents most account takeover attempts.
  • Essential for admin and operator roles managing production fleets.
  • required inorder to use the Tunnel feature.
